Jon brings  25+ years of high-stakes business advisory experience to his role as Co-Founder and CEO of C Street, leading the firm’s four business pillars. 

Prior to co-founding C Street, Jon spent 25 years as one of the country’s leading legal restructuring, crisis, and corporate governance advisors, including nearly two decades at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He started at Kirkland in September 2001 and was instrumental in helping to build both the New York office and the firm's restructuring group of more than 200 attorneys globally. Kirkland's market-leading restructuring group advised debtors in six of the top 10, and 12 of the top 20, largest bankruptcies of 2020. 


Jon is a trusted advisor to C-Suites and boards of directors regarding corporate governance and negotiations in highly complex and “bet the company” situations. In that regard, he has successfully guided public and private companies through transformative restructuring and other corporate transactions in a multitude of sectors, including retail, technology, automotive, energy, industrials, printing, media, radio broadcasting, television, healthcare, airlines, and publishing. 


As a leading strategic legal advisor, Jon is known for his creative, pragmatic, and commercial solutions to problems, and notably, structured and implemented the two fastest bankruptcy cases in history, Full Beauty and Sungard, both confirmed in less than 24 hours. Chambers USA quoted sources who described Jon as a “terrific solution-oriented and collaborative attorney” who “understands the big picture and works relentlessly to achieve results.” 


Jon is sought out for his views on a variety of restructuring topics by, among others, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Financial Times, CNBC, Bloomberg, Reuters, Yahoo Finance, The Deal, Bankruptcy Law360, and Bankruptcy Court Decisions. He has lectured at Harvard Business School, New York University, Wharton Business School, Wake Forest Law School, and Cardozo Law School on distressed investing, hedge funds’ involvement in Chapter 11 and the credit markets, and has published articles on, among other topics, distressed debt trading and corporate decision making. In addition, Jon has authored articles on medium.com about his mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.


Jon is deeply involved  in the Democratic party. He served as National Finance Chair for Kamala Harris’ Presidential campaign, Co-Finance Chair for Ray McGuire's Mayoral campaign, and Co-Finance Chair for Jaime Harrison's Senate campaign. In addition, Jon is the Co-Founder and a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Education in Honduras. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of CaringKind, the Heart of Alzheimer's Caregiving, and the Partnership for New York City. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Union College, the Chair of the Board of the Vice President’s Residence Foundation, the Chair of the Advisory Committee of the Heyman Center for Corporate Governance, and a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
