William F. Gorin

William is a distinguished lawyer and corporate and nonprofit advisor and director.
William served as Senior Counsel at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he practiced from 1978 to 2014, including from 1986 to 2014 as a partner, in New York and Paris. William’s practice focused on domestic and international financing and business transactions, including U.S. securities laws, equity and debt offerings, and corporate acquisitions. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA, The Legal 500 U.S., Latin Lawyer 250: Latin America’s Leading Business Law Firms, and IFLR 1000: The Guide to the World’s Leading Law Firms.
William also serves as a senior advisor and board member of CJS Beverage LLC and Pinhook Holdings LLC, a privately held manufacturer of bourbon and rye.
William has extensive experience advising nonprofit boards, including on finance, accounting, and governance matters. He currently serves on the boards of Sanctuary for Families, the Hunts Point Alliance for Children, the Opportunity Agenda, the Citizens Committee for Children of New York, and Graham Windham.
William has lectured at Columbia Law School on various aspects of international banking and financial law. He holds a B.A. from Haverford College and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
