What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented individual to join the Special Situations Advisory group as a Senior Associate. This role provides exposure to a fast-paced client services business and the opportunity to grow with us. This person should have experience working on transactions, either from a consulting or financial perspective, and will be expected to provide extensive financial and operational support to clients. The ideal candidate will have experience working with companies, lenders, or creditors on transactions or navigating distressed situations. What You Will Do

  • Advise companies in financial distress including pre-crisis situations, balance sheet restructuring, refinancing of corporate obligations, evaluation of strategic alternatives and assistance in raising debt or equity financing, and other special situations

  • Develop and analyze integrated financial modeling and projections, including 13-week cash flow budgets, for various options, including liquidation, restructuring and sale financial statements

  • Perform valuation analysis, industry and competitive analysis, and due diligence to assist in the development and critique of client business plans

  • Draft and participate in the preparation of client reports and presentation materials

  • Assistance with new business development and proposal efforts for potential new clients

  • Assisting with day-to-day management and execution of client engagements, including monitoring progress and ensuring completion of client work to statutory and client deadlines

  • Provide support to consulting teams during client engagements, including interacting with clients, potential investors, attorneys and others as required

What You Bring

  • 2-4 years’ work experience in restructuring, distressed investing, corporate finance, restructuring advisory or management consulting

  • Ability to construct cash flow models with proficiency

  • Solid understanding of key financial analyses (ratios, bridges, sensitivity analyses, etc.) and strong forecasting capabilities including integrated model (IS/BS/SCF/Debt)

  • Excellent understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • An ability to problem-solve by thinking critically about issues facing clients, identifying options and devising solutions to overcome obstacles.

  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and an ability to build client and internal relationships

  • Project management skills including responsibility for delivering to project timetables and balancing competing priorities,

  • Good judgment, with ability to make sound and timely decisions

  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities

  • High degree of responsiveness, including evenings and weekends, as needed

  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills, as well the ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients.

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience
