What We're Looking For

We are looking for a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Intern to work up to 40 hours a week from June 6, 2022 – August 5, 2022, virtually or in-person. The DEI Intern will provide support for the DEI Advisory team at C Street through client work research. For current college students, this role provides exposure to a fast-paced client services business and the opportunity to grow with us. If you’re excited to learn, eager to contribute, and motivated by our mission to make DEI systemic in institutions, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do

Research and Assessment:

  • Assist with data analysis and reporting in clients’ DEI Assessments

  • Gather “state of the field” information about DEI in various industries

  • Assist in development of C Street’s internal database of diversity statistics for subnational labor markets


Client Work:

  • Assist in scheduling, note-taking, and conducting interviews with clients

  • Analyze and contribute creative ideas to interpret quantitative and qualitative data

  • Attend client meetings


What You Will Learn:

  • Substantive understanding of key topics in private, public, and non-profit sector diversity, equity, and inclusion 

  • Communication skills across varied audiences including clients and the general public 

  • Software skills for data gathering, analysis, and presentation, including Qualtrics, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Qualitative research skills gathering information about firms and public policy 

What You Will Need

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate degree program

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Tech savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proof of vaccination or religious or medical exemption (if in office)

  • Not necessary, but proficiency in R or Python, and data analysis experience welcome
