Bre has nearly two decades of experience in the nonprofit, education, and social impact sectors. Prior to joining C Street, Bre worked as the Program Manager for the Institute on Race and Political Economy at the New School. She also founded and served as the Executive Director of The Dr. Doretha Pressey Southern Scholars Initiative, Inc., a scholarship and college completion program developed to honor the legacy of her late mother by creating access, equity, and success for students of color from low-income communities in the rural South. Bre began her career at the New York Public Library's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture where she first served as a Public Programs Coordinator and was quickly promoted to Manager of Special Events. She also served as a cultural events programming lead at Adelphi University.
Bre obtained her B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and her M.A. in Africana Studies from NYU. She also holds a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate from Northwestern University.
